As I wrote in my entry, I had a disappointing experience at Sakura Matsuri at Brooklyn Botanic Garden last weekend. And as we were exiting the garden, I gently asked a nice man who worked there if I could get readmission tickets. It never hurts to ask and he gave them to me.
Understandably, my hubs decided that he didn’t want to spend another 3 hours on the subway, so I invited my buddy Marj to come along.
There they were. In full blossom.
These are my favorite kind. Remind me of home.
They also have a very impressive tulip collection.
Since I went all the way to Brooklyn, I wasn’t going to go home without visiting the museum next door this time. There, I saw a beautiful tree by a young American artist, Swoon and also a special exhibit by a contemporary Chinese artist, Ai Weiwei. I’ll write about them sometime this week, since they will be showing at Brooklyn Museum until mid August.
